The agreement allows the EU Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) to conduct operational activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to enhance border management. It aims to reduce irregular migration and cross-border crime along the EU’s external borders. The cooperation seeks to improve the control of migration flows and increase the efficiency of return procedures. Human rights and EU standards in border controls are ensured as binding requirements. This initiative builds on similar agreements with other Western Balkan countries, reinforcing regional security.
