2023 and 2024 reports on North Macedonia (debate)

Madam President, in a progress report on any candidate country, there is no place to talk about identity and language. Moreover, the Republic of North Macedonia is a multi-ethnic state in which, in addition to people who identify as Macedonians, there are Albanians, Turks, Serbs, Croats and especially Bulgarians who are oppressed by the government. The task of such a report is to talk about progress in meeting the Copenhagen criteria and the commitments made, as well as respect for human rights. And who feels what and in what language speaks is his right, but this has no place in this report, as it creates tension and division, and violates its functional integrity.
