Madam President, ladies and gentlemen of the PP, these are not numbers that you can use for your political interests in Spain: They're people. They are people like Pepe's wife, who alone could not get him out of bed and climb some insurmountable steps for a person without mobility; Yolanda's brother, who told us how his wife and son did not finish the journey from the boy's school to his home; And Toñi, who never saw her husband and daughter come up from the garage again. Like his, there are more than two hundred heartbreaking stories of the DANA of Valencia, avoidable if the Generalitat Valenciana had warned in time. This leads to two conclusions: whereas climate change will not only steal the future, but kill in the present, and we need resilience plans now to defend ourselves; and bad politics, which understands that power is giving away positions in private restaurants instead of assuming responsibilities and duties with their citizens. The Valencian people, which I can proudly say is mine, put on their boots and, with the shovels, assumed that duty that they did not find in my regional government. And now it's our turn: Our boots and shovels are the reconstruction plan that needs the agility of this House. Let's live up to it and swallow the fang and let them recover the seues vides.
