Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, we all recognise the gravity of the situation, but I would like to shed some light on some concerns about the content and objectives of the report. We recognize rising prices and the problem of inflation, but we are equally determined to reject the use of the energy crisis as an opportunity to promote gender ideology, preferring the document to address in a concrete and realistic way the economic and energy challenges that women and families face in Europe. The critical points of the report imply the continued emphasis on the gender perspective and, in addition, the request for the appointment of a European Gender Coordinator. The creation of this new figure, accompanied by staff and associated funding, would lead to an increase in European bureaucracy which has only a political and ideological purpose, but which would not represent an effective solution to the energy problem. Finally, it is underlined how important and impactful issues in real life and in everyday life have been used for supranational interventionism in the regulation of real estate markets and public housing. Although some proposals are acceptable, exposure to ideological elements prevents us from supporting the report.
