Situation of Roma people living in settlements in the EU (debate)
Date: N/A | Language: SKIn principle, the proposed resolution on the situation of Roma living in EU settlements cannot be criticised much. The motion for a resolution is objective, factual and constructive. Housing, education, environment, employment must be a priority, not only for the EU, but above all for the governments of the nation states, thus also for the government of the Slovak Republic. However, this requires funding and the right direction. Funds must be directed to regions, local governments, mayors of municipalities, i.e. where the problem of Roma settlements is most understood. The funding so far through various plenipotentiaries, civic associations, has not met the expectations. I agree that both the national government and the government of the Slovak Republic should be involved. And if it will, it will. I agree with the need to eliminate Roma settlements. This must be done in a civilised and legally acceptable manner. If the government wanted to, it would solve the problem. For example: The current Slovak government was able to build a town with decent housing with hot water, sewerage, and internet for American soldiers. The Slovak Roma is no less than an American soldier. If we were to place American soldiers in Roma settlements in Jasov, Jarovnice, Kobeliarova and elsewhere, I believe that in a few days there would be water, sewerage, internet and road. If you want, the problem can be solved.
The attack on climate and nature: far right and conservative attempts to destroy the Green Deal and prevent investment in our future (topical debate)
Date:
24.04.2024 12:09
| Language: SK
Mr President, I do not think that anyone wants to destroy the Green Deal, that someone wants to destroy Europe, that is not true. Simply, the Green Deal must be respected by everyone, recognized because it's something beautiful, it's something good. But those who have designed the Green Deal must realize that it has a number, a number of shortcomings, a number of mistakes that are unacceptable. We just have to admit it and move on. But what is important: What matters is that I am speaking for the last time in this House and I would like to wish peace to the whole House, to the whole world, to the whole of Europe, to Ukraine, to the Russians and to the Ukrainians, and for that reason, let me release the dove of peace as a sign that Europe needs peace.. (The speaker dropped a white dove into the chamber) And let this dove of peace fly over the whole of Europe. May this dove of peace unite us all. Let this dove of peace be a sign that what we need most is peace. Give peace and chance. (The President interrupted the speaker) We need peace. All of Europe needs peace.
Attempts to dismantle Rule of Law and media freedom in Slovakia (debate)
Date:
11.04.2024 08:27
| Language: SK
Madam President, Commissioner, Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mr Hojsík, censorship has been ongoing in Slovakia for at least five years. The whole public media space was dominated by one progressive-liberal opinion. In Slovakia, it is not an attempt to control public media, but an attempt to eradicate censorship. And anyone who says otherwise either doesn't understand it or simply lies. Anyone who today criticizes and attacks the reconstruction of RTVS is in favour of maintaining censorship in the public media of the Slovak Republic. In order not to speak to the wind, Commissioner, as a judge I will give you such a simple example. In 2019, Miroslav Radačovský was elected to the European Parliament with the votes of almost 50,000 citizens. He finished sixth in the European elections. Over the course of five years, this famous public television did not allow him to speak or represent his constituents once. She simply ignored the fifty thousand citizens of the Slovak Republic. Is this public television? This is just one of the few examples. I'll give you hundreds of such examples. I am a vivid example of the fact that the public broadcaster of the Slovak Republic is one-sidedly directed in favour of the opinion of those who are comfortable with it, who are today shouting about its freedom, and to the detriment of those who have a different opinion. It's true, I stand behind it, as an old man, I have no reason to lie. Believe me.
The current situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (debate)
Date:
27.02.2024 19:57
| Language: SK
Madam President, the European Union is burning with farmers' protests against the European Commission's senseless actions, and we are talking this week in Strasbourg about the problems in Congo, Syria, Cuba, Ukraine, Russia, the Gaza Strip, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Chile, and maybe we will also address the problems of penguins in Madagascar. With all due respect for the people of the Congo, the situation in the Congo is the result of the policies of the United States of America and Belgium. Belgium colonized the Congo, plundered it. Leopold II murdered a million Congolese and built palaces in Brussels and Ostend. The first democratically elected prime minister, Patrice Lumumba, was assassinated by the CIA and Mobutu, who gave himself a mad name: Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu wa behind Banga. That's not what a normal person would think. The Congo problem is the problem of the Parliament of Belgium and the Congress of the United States of America. Eastern Europe and Slovakia have nothing to do with it. Let us address the problems we have in the European Union and then take an interest in the whole world.
Working conditions of teachers in the EU (debate)
Date:
08.02.2024 09:37
| Language: SK
Mr President, there is no doubt that the profession of teacher is one of the most noble professions that can be. Achieving a teacher's dignity, social status, social status and respect can also be achieved through good pay. At the time of colonization... I'm sorry. At the time of accession negotiations for Slovakia's accession to the EU, our citizens, as well as teachers, believed that within a few years they would achieve a salary equal to Western European countries. What is the reality? After twenty years, the starting salary of a teacher in Slovakia is circa 800 EUR, in Western countries circa 3 000 EUR. The average annual salary of a teacher in Slovakia is 18 300 EUR per year, in Germany 71 000, in the Netherlands 60 000, etc. According to the scoreboard, we are among the most recent Eastern European countries in 20 years of existence of the European Union. I personally do not like it if the European Commission assesses the rule of law in Slovakia, if the European Commission assesses the level of democracy, because it is an internal matter of the state, but I would very much like and would like the European Commission to make some such proper recommendation for it... (The Chair interrupted the speaker)...she gave a proper recommendation on how to increase teachers' salaries.
Plants obtained by certain new genomic techniques and their food and feed (debate)

Madam President, a genetically modified organism is a living organism whose genetic equipment has been altered by direct human intervention through so-called genetic manipulation, the changes being of such a nature that, for the most part, they cannot occur in nature at all. If such an experiment were conducted on a person, it would be a serious crime. The scientific community is divided into two parts in the direction of GMOs. One is in favor, the other is against. It is difficult to decide for a non-expert like me how to vote on this matter. Vote for, vote against, abstain? However, I trust Slovak farmers, Slovak experts, I trust the Slovak Association of Bee Breeders, food producers, the Slovak Agricultural Food Chamber, the Vidiecká Platform, the Gazdovský spolok, the Farmers' Association of Slovakia and other Slovak experts, and I will therefore vote against such a regulation. I would also like to point out that the Slovak Republic has always had and still has, even before, experts in agriculture, in food self-sufficiency at a high level, so I trust them.
Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 14-15 December 2023 and preparation of the Special European Council meeting of 1 February 2024 - Situation in Hungary and frozen EU funds (joint debate - European Council meetings)
Date:
17.01.2024 10:04
| Language: SK
Mr President, Hungary in the morning, Slovakia in the afternoon. You want to tear us to pieces. But all right. Citizens of the European Union are the supreme bearer of democracy and power in the European Union. Without the citizens of the European Union, we would not be us, there would be no institutions, there would be none of us here. The citizens of Hungary are also citizens of the European Union and, according to the Hungarian Constitution, are holders of power in their own state. No one can deprive them of that right. They have chosen their government, their president, to be respected in Europe, to respect their views on migration, to respect their views on gender equality, to respect their views on Ukraine. Hungarians do not want to leave the EU. They don't even want to leave NATO. But they want Hungary to be respected as a proud, sovereign, nation-state in the European Union. Let's not take that right from them. The Hungarians are a historically proud nation and never kneel before any power. Isten áldja Magyarországot!
Keeping commitments and delivering military assistance to Ukraine (debate)
Date:
16.01.2024 10:20
| Language: SK
Mr President, at 9.30 a.m. on 22 February last year, I said this from this place, reading: “We are all convinced that together with the Americans we will defeat Russia.” And I asked: “What if we do not defeat Russia? Do we have an alternative B?’ And that alternative B is already here. We all know today that we will not beat Russia. So let's stop sending weapons to Ukraine, stop sending and supporting the killing of Slavs. Because if you do not stop, it may happen that we Slavs will unite, brother and brother. And I believe that one day we will come together and make Western Europe a lawn. From the Tatras, Šumavy to La Manche. The lawn. And I believe none of us want this. The war in Ukraine is a problem for the United States and its global interests. The European Union is only a vassal of the United States of America. Let's start talking about peace, but without the Americans. Let's stop killing people. Shut up! Shut up!
Planned dissolution of key anti-corruption structures in Slovakia and its implications on the Rule of Law (continuation of debate)
Date:
13.12.2023 17:24
| Language: SK
Madam President, I have been a judge in Slovakia for 36 years and therefore without emotion, pragmatically and correctly. In democratic elections, the elected government of the Slovak Republic submitted to Parliament a proposal to amend the Criminal Code. She filed a motion to abolish the Special Prosecutor's Office. The President of the Slovak Republic or the President of the Slovak Republic, not Ms von der Leyen or the Commissioner for Justice, can veto this proposal. And if she vetoes it, and it passes in parliament and the veto is broken, then the opposition can, Madame President, anyone can file a complaint with the Constitutional Court. And the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, not this Parliament or the European Commission, will decide whether the legislative procedure was administrative or not. And if the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic decides that the government acted contrary to the law, the government will respect it. What are you really bluffing about? You are interfering with the competences of the Slovak Republic. But we are not, Slovaks are no longer an inferior Slavic nation, and you are not Übermenschen. We are a sovereign country, a sovereign nation state. And why this show, the anti-Slovak show, why is it taking place here? But because some legal dilettantes, incompetent MEPs, because they were not successful in the elections, so now let Slovakia suffer, let the citizen of Slovakia suffer, let everyone suffer. We weren't successful in the election, we're going to destroy everything. That's a shame. It's a shame on you, colleagues, and a shame on all those who talk about it. (The President took the floor)
Humanitarian situation in Gaza, the need for the release of hostages and for an immediate humanitarian truce leading to a ceasefire and the prospects for peace and security in the Middle East (debate)
Date:
22.11.2023 09:02
| Language: SK
Mr President, the attitude of us Europeans towards the Jewish people is dishonest and hypocritical. For centuries, we have physically destroyed the Jewish people. In the end, we perfected it with the Holocaust and murdered six million innocent Jews. We couldn't live with them. We created a state for them. And since we couldn't live with them, we told the Palestinians: You have to live with them! You have to live with them, but not under the same conditions, not as an equal with an equal. The Israelis have their own state. The Palestinians got the Gaza Strip, they got the West Bank, they got occupied territory without a capital, without a vision for the future. And this is the main reason and cause of what is happening in the Middle East today. And I'll repeat what I said about half a month ago. No one will ever succeed in destroying a historically hard-pressed Jewish nation. But no one will ever succeed in destroying the hard-pressed Palestinian nation. Let's start a peace negotiation. Let us call for the creation of a Palestinian state. This is the future.
Proposals of the European Parliament for the amendment of the Treaties (debate)
Date:
21.11.2023 16:57
| Language: SK
Mr President, I am an MEP from Slovakia. I am obliged to respect the opinion of the Government of the Slovak Republic. In the programme statement approved today, the Government of the Slovak Republic quotes verbatim, and I would also like to quote: “The Government of the Slovak Republic radically rejects attempts to replace unanimity with qualified majority. The Government of the Slovak Republic radically rejects the abolition of the right of veto. The Government of the Slovak Republic radically rejects the unjustified transfer of competences from the Member States to the European Union. The Government of the Slovak Republic radically rejects the abolition of existing decision-making in the institutions of the European Union, which require the consent of all the members of the European Union.” Therefore, as a Member of the Slovak Republic, I will vote against the revision of the Treaties in question and I argue that any Member of the European Parliament from Slovakia, if he or she voted in favour of the revision of the Treaties, would vote against his or her own state and would vote against the will of the citizens of the Slovak Republic.
Strengthening the right to participate: legitimacy and resilience of electoral processes in illiberal political systems and authoritarian regimes (debate)
Date:
08.11.2023 20:28
| Language: SK
Madam President, I agree that elections are essential for the functioning of every state. I agree that international observation missions, OBS, the UN, the European Union should participate in election observation in every state. To participate in election observation also in states that we refer to as states with an illiberal political system, as autocratic states. It is not possible for elections in the Russian Federation to take place on 17 September 2021, and the European Commission has adopted, or the European Union has adopted, a resolution on 16 September that the elections will be undemocratic. And we didn't send observers there. That's not how it's done. And this is how we proceed in relation to states such as Belarus, Venezuela, the referendum in Crimea. We will not take part in the elections as observers because they are supposed to be undemocratic. And then we are surprised that in such states, domestic observers are formed, where observers from non-standard foreign missions are summoned there. I can't say that Julia Roberts sits behind me, and not Mrs Metsola, if I don't make sure that Mrs Metsola or Julia Roberts actually sits there.
The despicable terrorist attacks by Hamas against Israel, Israel’s right to defend itself in line with humanitarian and international law and the humanitarian situation in Gaza (debate)
Date:
18.10.2023 08:23
| Language: SK
Mr President, there is no nation chosen by God and there is no nation not chosen by God. We are all chosen by God because we live on one planet Earth. No one will ever succeed in destroying a hard-tested Jewish nation, but also no one will ever succeed in destroying a hard-tested Palestinian nation. My question is: Why do we give the right to live in our own country only to the Jewish people? Why do we not grant the right to live in our own state to the people of Palestine? Why do we apply a double standard in solving problems? All attacks on women, civilians, infrastructure are unacceptable, from all sides. Today we evaluate the effect, but we do not examine the causes. I agree with Mr Borrell, I share the view of Russia and China that the basis for the final solution is the implementation of a two-state solution, that is to say, the creation of an independent Palestinian State.
State of the Union (debate)
Date:
13.09.2023 10:06
| Language: SK
Mrs von der Leyen, I will read you part of your State of the Union address last September. "Russian industry is in ruins. Aeroflot is grounding planes because it doesn't have spare parts. The Russian army takes chips from dishwashers and refrigerators to repair its military equipment.’ What is the reality? On the Russian front, your German tanks are burning. Tens of thousands of Slavs are dying. Russia's economy is not disastrous. We all know what the real cause of this war is. It is Mrs von der Leyen, it is Mrs Metsola, it is our Commissioner Mr Šefčovič, it is also our Vice-President, the Slovak, the European Parliament, Mr Šimečka. Mr. Sebastian knows nothing. He can't even say hello to his older brother. If my son didn't say hello to his father, I would burn him so much that he would fly pigeons for three days over Strasbourg. The real cause of this war is the global interests of the United States in trying to occupy Europe, to occupy the world economically, to occupy the ports in the Black Sea, to occupy Crimea. Let's start negotiations on a ceasefire. Let's start negotiations on peace. There will be no problems in Europe.
Conclusions of the European Council meeting of 29-30 June 2023, in particular the recent developments in the war against Ukraine and in Russia (debate)
Date:
12.07.2023 07:24
| Language: SK
Mr President, we all want to defeat Russia. We supply weapons, cluster munitions, ammunition. However, I have two very important questions. First: When will Russia be defeated? A month, a year, two, ten. Putin said clearly: never. Mr. Biden should also give a clear answer when, at least approximately. The second legitimate question is: What if we don't defeat Russia? What's next? These are two important questions that are of interest to Slovaks and that are of interest to the citizens of Europe. It is necessary to give an answer to them. Western European countries are dreaming their historic dream: Defeat Russia. Dreams are a beautiful thing. Wonderful dreams. Until we wake up.
Industrial Emissions Directive - Industrial Emissions Portal - Deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure - Sustainable maritime fuels (FuelEU Maritime Initiative) - Energy efficiency (recast) (joint debate - Fit for 55 and Industrial Emissions)
Date:
10.07.2023 16:18
| Language: SK
Madam President, I will be voting unequivocally against the Industrial Emissions Directive. I am an MEP from Slovakia and I respect the expert opinion of the Slovak Chamber of Agriculture and Food. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions of carbon dioxide and methane by reducing cattle breeding in Slovakia from the current 600 livestock units to 150 is simply unacceptable for Slovak farmers and food producers. There may be other ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is necessary to take care of natural emission absorbers, forests, water, air, and these forests, water and air, which are enough in Slovakia, should be taken care of primarily by those who manage these forests: foresters, non-state owners. And environmental activists or NGOs sometimes do more harm than good with inexperience and inexperience, although I understand that both environmental activists and NGOs have something to say about the clean air.
Humanitarian and environmental consequences of the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam - Sustainable reconstruction and integration of Ukraine into the Euro-Atlantic community (debate)

| Language: SK
Mr President, German tanks are burning on the eastern front, the people of Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea are fighting for their historical territories, but above all thousands of Slavs are dying there. And Anglo-Saxons? They are going on vacation, to the sea, to Sardinia. In America, movies are filmed in Hollywood, a red carpet is about to be made for the Oscars. And in Ukraine, let them kill themselves there. Let the dams be thrown out, let there be ecological disasters. Anglo-Saxons dream of their historic dream: We will conquer Russia, we will occupy Crimea, we will occupy the ports in the Black Sea and we will be satisfied, we will be calm. Let's stop it. A ceasefire, I understand, is unacceptable, because a ceasefire is peace and negotiation. Let's stop it for the sake of the Slavs, for the sake of not repeating such things in the future. I say it without emotion, clearly. We all know the cause of this war. We just don't want to admit it.
Foreign interference in all democratic processes in the European Union, including disinformation - Election integrity and resilience build-up towards European elections 2024 (debate)

Is it because the President leads foreign visits there and makes Slovakia ashamed? In the 30 years I've been a judge, served in the military, I've never seen my age... ...but that's not the reason, even if it were, we love our own, our lesbians. These are our lesbians, our homosexuals, and no one will interfere with us here and call us a nation of xenophobes...

Madam President, when I read this report, I came to the conclusion that those who have processed it deserve the Nobel Prize for Disinformation and the Sakharov Prize for Conducting Hybrid Warfare. Just briefly, Article 105. The European Union is concerned about the Chinese taking their citizens through some illegal police stations to China. Now that's for hospitalization. But China has such a small population that it has to take its Chinese home. This really put someone's brain at risk, not their lungs. Article 86 refers to Slovakia. I do not know where this information came from. That homophobia, xenophobia of Slovaks is the cause of the murder of two young people in Slovakia. But those two young people were killed by a man we don't even know who he is, what he is, why I am, and what he is like. I was, I served in the army. There were thousands of boys, I was a judge for 30 years, I am also my age. I have not experienced any homophobic or other manifestations in Slovakia. None of the Slovaks are that way, no one offends the Slovaks like that. (The Chair interrupted the speaker)... This is a pamphlet that doesn't need to be read or read... (The Chair took the floor) (The speaker agrees to answer the question raised by raising the "blue card")
Breaches of the Rule of law and fundamental rights in Hungary and frozen EU funds (debate)
Date:
31.05.2023 16:31
| Language: SK
Mr President, the disobedient Orbán, the disobedient Hungary. In 1960, the first Prime Minister, Patrice Lumumba, was democratically elected in Congo. He was disobedient. He wanted to establish relations with the Soviet Union. With the help of the CIA, France and Belgium, he was assassinated and dissolved in sulphuric acid. Mobutu dictator Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga was appointed, and he was already obedient and ruled the Congo for 30 years. Today we have other methods to force Hungary to be obedient. Remove the rotating presidency and freeze funds. But in principle, it's the same. Dissolve Mr. Orban and the Fidesz party in sulfuric acid and put their obedient dictator there. I wish Mr. Orbán good luck and health on the occasion of his 60th birthday today.
Update of the anti-corruption legislative framework (debate)

| Language: SK
Mr President, I have many years of experience as an old judge in the fight against corruption. I really like Mrs Jourová's slogan. Corruption is like cancer. If we let it grow, it will suffocate us, it will suffocate our democracy, our institutions. Corruption has existed for a thousand years since one became Homo sapiens. Corruption is equivalent to theft. We tried to prevent theft by imposing various penalties. For centuries, we've been cutting hands, hanging by a hook, drowning, breaking in a wheel, and stealing all the time. Punishment probably doesn't lead to it. Prevention is necessary. And the necessary prevention is especially in the area where corruption is most prevalent. In Slovakia, for example, it is not possible for the Chief State Counsellor to have an income of EUR 1 000 as an official and to decide on several million contracts or public procurements. It is not possible for officials of public administration and state administration to have such a minimum income and to decide on the affairs of millions, that this is not a temptation to some kind of corruption. Here is the path to prevention. There are a lot of things I could talk about for six hours, but it can't be done in a minute.
Ukrainian cereals on the European market (debate)

Madam President, I do not know what is new on the Eastern Front. The information is different. Italians and Germans could tell us better, because their grandfathers remember the Eastern Front. But I know for sure, and we all know it, even though we pretend we don't. The United States and Russia are fighting over Crimea, fighting over ports in the Black Sea. And they suffer, farmers. Farmers suffer, we have a crop problem. Ono viete, najlepšie by bolo riešenie také, aby tie americké vojská odišli domov. Let them play soldiers somewhere in the Nevada desert. And we, the Slovaks, could deliver them there even, we have good howitzers Zuzana. We even have President Zuzana. We could send them that too. And she wouldn't even have to come back. But in fact, it's not possible. We all know what's going on here. We know who is struggling and who is suffering. Do our Slovak farmers, your farmers, suffer and we play soldiers here? China wants a ceasefire, the pope wants a ceasefire. All countries in the world want a ceasefire. And we just want to fight, fight and solve unnecessary problems. Let's get these Americans to stop. We in Europe will solve it ourselves here at home. That's all.
The need for a coherent strategy for EU-China Relations (debate)
Date:

| Language: SK
Mr President, until recently, the European Commission was dirtying China where it could. We claimed that it was an autocratic, undemocratic state repressing fundamental rights and freedoms, we awarded the Sakharov Prize to Ilham Tohti. The Chinese communists suddenly visited Moscow, the US was frightened that it would stop fighting, and Ms von der Leyen changed her rhetoric. I quote: “China is a fascinating and complex mixture of history and challenges.” This is the hypocrisy reaching the heights of the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. Mrs von der Leyen, it is hypocrisy. You would really deserve to be at the head of the NATO headquarters, and also with our president, who would also fight around the world to tear the body apart, unhappy. I wish China, I wish the People's Republic of China every success, and all of China, including Taiwan, Jonguo wan suck!
2022 Rule of Law Report - The rule of law situation in the European Union - Rule of law in Greece - Rule of law in Spain - Rule of law in Malta (debate)

Mr President, I have worked as a judge in Slovakia for almost 40 years and, in principle, I am opposed to Brussels interfering in the judicial systems of any national state. On the other hand, I must objectively state that Slovakia’s 2022 evaluation report is objective. Disproportionate interference with, or interference with, the appointment of judges, prosecutors by non-governmental organisations. However, there will soon be parliamentary elections and presidential elections in Slovakia. I am convinced that the new professional government and the new professionally elected president will eliminate these serious facts. If not, the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic will gradually become the Ministry of Non-Governmental Organisations and Civil Associations. And this is not good for Slovakia, it is not good for the justice system.
Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence: EU accession (continuation of debate)
Date:
14.02.2023 12:44
| Language: SK
Madam President, I would like to ask honestly and without emotion why someone wants to impose the Istanbul Convention on the Slovak Republic? After all, the jurisdiction of the Slovak Republic provides for a more consistent and precise protection of women's rights against domestic violence. And I know what I'm talking about. But there is another problem, besides physical violence, there is also psychological violence. So I ask: is a woman, a pensioner, a Slovak, a citizen of the European Union? Well, it is. Does Slovakia belong to the European Union? Well, it belongs. Does the European Union have free borders with Schengen? Well, he has. How is it possible that our Slovak women, pensioners who find it difficult to earn income, have to go to work as maids, take care of Germany, take care of Austria, to grieve? But I have never seen a Swedish woman, a French woman, an Italian woman in Slovakia, to take care of our pensioners, to take care of them. This is a problem in Slovakia. This is a problem for women in Slovakia. This is discrimination. Come, Western European ladies, to Slovakia, to Orava, to Gemer, to Spiš, and you will see how women live there. Come take care of us, come to our hotels and so on. Or you are ÜbermenschYou can't? And here you want to impose on Slovakia some Istanbul... (The Chair adjourned the speaker)We value women in Slovakia. We don't need it... (The Chair adjourned the speaker)We don't have a lost ideology.
