Dear Mr President, First of all, I would like to congratulate Mr McAllister on his report. He did an exemplary job on the table. The Russian war changed the entire geopolitical situation in the world. We must be prepared that what happened to Ukraine can easily happen elsewhere. In Taiwan or elsewhere. The EU cannot be left out of responses to such situations, given our power interests and transatlantic commitments. In preparing this report, we sought to take into account the consequences of this new geopolitical reality. These crisis situations require closer cooperation between Member States so that the Union can act more decisively and emerge stronger from them. And those Member States that deny this need are isolating themselves within Europe. The Union must also find strong responses to this, that is to say, to such internal challenges.
